Great Basin Knife Company is a Native American Family-owned studio rooted in the high desert of the Great Basin, where obsidian rivers still flow beneath the sage and the old songs ride the wind. We are makers, keepers of stories, and children of this land, carrying forward the traditional ways taught to us by our ancestors: gathering volcanic glass by hand, honoring every animal through responsible and respectful harvest, and shaping bone, antler, and stone with the same patience and prayer our people have offered for thousands of years. For decades, Dale devoted his life to learning, progressing, and perfecting the ancient arts of flintknapping and knife craftsmanship, creating stunning works of art that have brought wonder to collectors across the country. He taught us not just how to shape obsidian, bone, and antler, but how to listen to the stone, respect the animal, and pour heart into every piece. Today, each knife that leaves our studio carries his spirit—the same patience, skill, and quiet reverence he shared with us.
